Group Riding Etiquette
Corner Marshall | CM |
Ride Coordinator | RC |
Ride Leader | RL |
Tail End Charlie | TEC |
- Ensure your bike is fuelled before arriving at the initial start point.
- Be on time for the ride briefing to ensure the ride start is not delayed.
- Pay attention to the ride briefing to ensure you are aware of last minute changes etc.
- As a courtesy to other riders DO NOT ENGAGE IN SIDE CONVERSATIONS DURING THE RIDE BRIEFING.
- Be
ready to ride immediately after the briefing.
This is not the time for a comfort break. - Be courteous and think of other road users.
- When approaching a turn, put your indicator on as you approach the Corner Marshal, not when the rider in front of you indicates.
- If you are a rider that gets a little “excited” and wants to “give it a bit” be mindful of your actions and do not “spook” other riders in the group.
- ALWAYS obey all road rules, speed limits etc.
- If you are leaving a ride before the next stop, ensure TEC and RL are aware, and position yourself towards the rear of the group.
- Pull off to the left before leaving the ride and remain stationary until the TEC has passed your location.
- ALWAYS overtake on the right.
- DO NOT overtake by crossing double centre lines.
- DO NOT bring adverse attention to the Club/Branch because of your riding.
- Beware of the “Domino Effect” caused by sudden braking.
- If
a rider is stopped by law enforcement, the remainder of the riders should keep going and stop a
reasonable distance up the road.
Do not attempt to intercede between the rider and law enforcement.
