Ride Coordinator Briefing
Corner Marshall | CM |
Ride Coordinator | RC |
Ride Leader | RL |
Tail End Charlie | TEC |
- Ride safe, within capabilities, obey road rules and watch your distancing.
- Welcome new or returning riders.
- Rider in front of TEC to keep TEC headlights in rear vision mirror. He/she watches over the ride, so it is only fair we rotate in looking after him/her.
- Watch for other riding groups dropping in/out of our ride convoy. Ensure you are following the correct bike.
- On a straight stretch, if you are a slower rider, move to the left to allow others to overtake.
- DO NOT OVERTAKE ON THE LEFT.
- Push bikes can be an issue. Watch for them. If the group are wearing numbers, they may be in a competition and could make sudden overtaking manoeuvres.
- Be aware of any emergency vehicles and allow them past.
- There will be a 10-minute warning at coffee, then a quick brief re the next part of the ride.
- If not going on after the coffee break, advise TEC and also do not put your helmet on until we have left.
- When the group leaves each location or does a regroup, TEC will ride past all riders to the RL to ensure everyone is ready.
- Ensure there are no more than 2 trikes/Spyders travelling together, as it can cause issues at CM.
- Corner Marshalling -
Understand the procedure.
Look for the lead rider’s direction.
Put on your indicator and raise your arm (where safe) to indicate direction of travel.
Watch for TEC and pull in front as they approach. If unsafe to do so, pull in behind and overtake when safe.
Sometimes you will see 2 bikes stop at a CM location. This usually means they have comms and want to keep the link.
If a trike/Spyder rider considers the CM location risky, then indicate the location to the next rider and keep going. - SPEED CAMERAS
